LEAD Brevard Announces Rachel Rutledge as New Chief Executive Officer
Melbourne, FL — April 22, 2026 — LEAD Brevard, the county’s premier leadership development organization, is pleased to announce Rachel Rutledge has been selected as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Rutledge currently serves as Career and Technical Education Director for Brevard Public Schools, where she leads initiatives that prepare students for career pathways aligned with workforce and economic development needs throughout Brevard County. She brings extensive experience in education, leadership development, and community collaboration to her new role at LEAD Brevard.
“LEAD Brevard plays a vital role in developing informed, connected, and forward-thinking leaders for our community,” said Rutledge. “I am honored to step into this role and build on the organization’s strong legacy while continuing to create meaningful leadership experiences that strengthen Brevard County.”
Retiring CEO Kristin Bakke has led LEAD Brevard for more than two decades, guiding the organization through significant growth, innovation, and community impact. Under her leadership, LEAD Brevard expanded its programming, strengthened partnerships, and reinforced its role as a cornerstone of leadership development in the region.
“It has been a privilege to serve our community,” said Bakke. “Rachel is an exceptional leader with a deep understanding of Brevard, and I am confident she will pilot LEAD Brevard into a strong and innovative future.”
The leadership transition was the result of a comprehensive search process by the LEAD Brevard Board of Directors.
