Building Stronger Communities Through Connection: A Spotlight on Johnette Gindling

As LEAD Brevard celebrates 40 years of leadership and community impact, we’re proud to highlight leaders who embody the power of connection in action. This week, we recognize Johnette Gindling, a member of the Class of 2020 and a dedicated community leader working to improve health outcomes across Brevard County.
For Johnette, LEAD Brevard is rooted in one simple truth: people need people. Her experience in the program expanded her network in meaningful ways—connections she continues to rely on today to move important work forward. Whether collaborating with partners or mobilizing support for community initiatives, those relationships have proven invaluable.
Through her leadership at the Space Coast Health Foundation, Johnette has focused on driving measurable impact. One powerful example is her leadership in bringing together healthcare leaders from across the county to work toward shared solutions. That effort not only addressed immediate challenges but also built lasting partnerships that continue to strengthen the community today.
Her approach to leadership is grounded in collaboration. As she puts it, if you want to go far, you go together. For Johnette, serving means working alongside others to create lasting change—leveraging collective knowledge, resources, and relationships to make a meaningful difference.
Since moving to Brevard in 2004, Johnette has found a true sense of belonging in the community. Through LEAD Brevard, that sense of connection only deepened—broadening her understanding of the people, organizations, and opportunities that make Brevard unique.
As we celebrate our ruby anniversary, Johnette’s story is a powerful reminder that strong communities are built through connection, collaboration, and a shared commitment to serve.
