Kimberly Meehan Agee to run Melbourne Main Street
Kimberly Meehan Agee, who worked more than 16 years for the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, has been hired as permanent executive director of Melbourne Main Street.
“I’m really excited about this opportunity. I have deep roots in Melbourne. My family’s one of the founding families in Melbourne,” Agee told Melbourne’s downtown Community Redevelopment Agency board Friday morning.
“So this really comes home for me, and allows me to bring forward all of my background and skills that I have done throughout my career,” Agee said.
Agee had served as interim executive director the past six months. Based in a Vernon Place office, Melbourne Main Street organizes the Downtown Melbourne Food & Wine Festival every November.
Other events include the Downtown Melbourne Botanical Fest (March), Red White & Brew Fest (Fourth of July), summer sidewalk sale (July), Halloween trick-or-treat (October) and Candlelight Shopping (November-December).
Agee worked for Health First from 2013 to 2018, logging stints as director of community relations and director of external affairs. She also owns Agee Consulting and previously worked for the Canaveral Port Authority and BRPH Cos.
Melbourne Main Street has operated under contract with the Melbourne City Council since 2006 for downtown marketing and economic development.
