Now accepting nominations for 4 Under 40!

As the community leadership connection in Brevard County, LEAD Brevard recognizes the need for our community to applaud the contributions of our emerging leaders in the public, private and non profit sectors who make contributions to improve our overall quality of life. While we can all name existing community leaders, how many of us know an individual who is ‘emerging’ in their leadership role in our community? It’s time to showcase these new community leaders!

Each year, individuals from throughout the community are nominated, from that pool twelve become finalists.  Help us celebrate these twelve and the top 4 under 40 on Friday, February 18th, 2011.  Nominate a young professional HERE for this year's awards.

Calling all Non-Profit Board Members and volunteers!

As community leaders, LEAD Brevard knows that many of you are involved in our county’s numerous community benefit organizations.  We want you to know about an important opportunity for these CBOs.  LEAD Brevard is offering a second round of the grant based, Community Capacity Building leadership course- Service Leadership Brevard.

Currently 26 CBOS are participating in the first round of the program which began in June. Community Benefit Organizations will have the opportunity to increase their organizational capacity through a series of 8 once-monthly seminars based around such topics as: Grant Writing, Strategic Planning, Fundraising Planning, Program Development and Implementation, Board Development, engaging Millennial Donors as well as a variety of other topics.

In addition, organizations will be offered technical assistance and participate in collaborative group projects.  This program is offered free to qualifying organizations that complete a capacity needs assessment. Qualifying organizations are small to mid-sized 501 c(3) not for profit secular or faith based (offering at least one secular social service)  organizations.

To be considered for this last round of Service Leadership Brevard, organizations must complete the capacity needs assessment and return in to LEAD Brevard (PO Box 836, Cocoa, FL 32923) no later than Sept. 17th.  The assessment can be downloaded HERE.  For more information, view the class curriculum HERE or contact Erica Lemp for more information 321-632-8222 Erica@LEADBrevard.org
